In Denmark payments are mostly handled with payment cards. Like almost no other country Danes own a payment card and are confident in using it online.
MobilePay has in the later years seen a substantial growth, but it is important to remember that a MobilePay Online transaction is in fact a card payment transaction.
Danish consumers are generally positive towards online shopping and year after year there is a significant growth in online shopping behaviour. Included are non-subscription payments from Danish merchants using the Quickpay platform.

The card distribution overview shows the split between different card payment methods. Visa and Mastercard are gaining market share within the card distribution market. This might be due to the constant internationalization where online consumers shop across borders and in that case need an international payment card. MobilePay Online transactions are not included in the overview.
