DBU was founded in 1889 as the first national football association outside of Great Britain and Ireland and today serves as Denmark’s governing football organization. DBU supports around 1,500 clubs and approximately 373,000 members and also oversees Denmark’s football leagues.

DBU offers all member clubs a custom-built website with integrated payment solutions. With numerous clubs and members to serve, DBU requires a payment gateway that is both easy to set up and user-friendly for everyone.

“We initiated our partnership with Quickpay in 2015 to simplify and optimize financial transactions between clubs and their members. Since then, Quickpay has become the trusted payment gateway for one-third of the DBU-affiliated clubs in Denmark, covering over 55 percent of all Danish football players. In short, Quickpay helps clubs collect membership fees seamlessly. Clubs can manage subscription payments online and automatically charge members’ payment cards. It’s incredibly easy to use, which is why it’s been such a success,” says Esben Damkilde, Communications and Support Officer at DBU.

Strengthening the bond between clubs and their members

According to Esben Damkilde, Quickpay plays a vital role in the clubs’ financial operations and has strengthened the relationship between clubs and their members.

“With Quickpay, we have achieved a significant improvement in the daily financial operations of the clubs. Thanks to Quickpay’s flexibility, clubs can implement the solution easily and quickly, reducing administrative burdens and minimizing friction in the relationship between clubs and members. At DBU, we focus on giving clubs more time to concentrate on what truly matters - getting people out on the pitch and playing football. In this regard, Quickpay has been a tremendous help,” Esben Damkilde concludes.
